Aston Villa offer £6.5m for Idrissa Gueye

Report claims that Aston Villa offer  £6.5m to Lille for Idrissa Gueye, the offer has plunged captain Fabian Delph’s future into doubt, amid reports that Villa might be preparing to cash-in on the England international.
Guaye, aged 25, is said to be similar in style and attitude and not an obvious choice to play alongside Delph in Tim Sherwood’s side, According to Media the Senegalese would be in England today to agree personal terms.

The move could be motivated by fears that Premier League rivals, such as Manchester City and Sherwood’s old team Tottenham, could make a bid that meets a release clause in Delph’s contract.
In that case, Villa would be powerless to stop Delph leaving. Yesterday’s bid for Gueye is preparation for that happening.
